Evercore Partners Appoints Adam B. Frankel as General Counsel

New York, NY – July 10, 2006 – Evercore Partners announced today that Adam B. Frankel has joined the firm as a Senior Managing Director and General Counsel, a newly created position. He will be responsible for Evercore's legal department and will handle all legal, compliance and risk management issues for the firm. Mr. Frankel joins Evercore from Genesee & Wyoming Inc., where he served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary.

Mr. Frankel joined Genesee & Wyoming in 2003 and established the company's in-house legal department, and he was also responsible for matters related to human resources and government affairs. Prior to Genesee & Wyoming, he worked from 1999 until 2003 as a corporate and transactions attorney in the Office of the General Counsel at Ford Motor Company. From 1995 until 1999, Mr. Frankel was an associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in London and New York.

Mr. Frankel, 38, is currently a member of the Board of Directors at Picis, Inc., a privately held company that creates automated software for resource-intensive hospital departments, where he serves on the audit and compensation committees. He received a B.A. in economics from Brown University in 1989 and a J.D. from Stanford Law School in 1993. Mr. Frankel was an editor of the Stanford Law Review and of the Stanford Law and Policy Review.
