Evercore Partners Appoints Francois Maisonrouge and Mark Vander Ploeg as Senior Managing Directors
NEW YORK, May 30, 2007 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- Evercore Partners (NYSE: EVR) announced today that Francois Maisonrouge and Mark Vander Ploeg will join the firm's advisory business as Senior Managing Directors. Messrs. Maisonrouge and Vander Ploeg will be based in Evercore's New York and San Francisco offices, respectively.
A seasoned investment banker in healthcare, Mr. Maisonrouge brings to Evercore extensive experience in the fields of pharmaceuticals, specialty pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and medical technology. Mr. Vander Ploeg is a leading investment banker in the retail and consumer sector. Both executives will play an important role in expanding Evercore's industry expertise.
Mr. Maisonrouge joins Evercore after nearly 15 years at Credit Suisse, where he was most recently Managing Director and Chairman of Life Sciences. Mr. Vander Ploeg, a 30-year veteran of the banking industry, joins Evercore after 12 years with Merrill Lynch, where he served as Vice Chairman of Investment Banking, Co-Head of Consumer Industries and Head of West Coast Origination.

At Credit Suisse, Mr. Maisonrouge was responsible for leading the firm's relationships with large healthcare clients such as Johnson & Johnson, Schering-Plough, Wyeth, GlaxoSmithKline, Roche and Teva, most notably in executing mergers and acquisitions and capital raising transactions.

At Merrill Lynch, Mr. Vander Ploeg was responsible for managing the firm's relationships with such key retail and consumer companies as Lowe's, Target, SUPERVALU, SYSCO, Cargill, Safeway, Molson Coors, 7-Eleven and RadioShack, among others, focusing primarily on strategic advice and transactions.

Prior to joining Credit Suisse in 1993, Mr. Maisonrouge, 48, worked for The Lodestar Group and Brussels Lambert Capital Corporation. He received an M.S. in Engineering from Ecole Centrale de Lyon and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School. Presently, Mr. Maisonrouge is a member of the Board of Advisors of the Harvard Business School Health Care Initiative. In 2003, he was awarded with France's "Ordre National du Merite."
Mr. Vander Ploeg, 55, was a Managing Director at Salomon Brothers before joining Merrill Lynch. Mr. Vander Ploeg is involved with several advisory boards at Stanford University, and is also on the Board of Directors of Project Pericles in New York. He received a B.A. from Macalester College where he is Board Chair-Emeritus and holds an M.B.A. from The University of Chicago.
