William J. Wheeler previously served as the vice chairman and president of Athene Holding Ltd. Previously, he was president of the Americas group for MetLife Inc., where he oversaw the insurance and retirement business in the United States and Latin America, and executive vice president and chief financial officer at MetLife. Prior to joining MetLife, Mr. Wheeler was an investment banker at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. Mr. Wheeler has an A.B. from Wabash College, where he is now a member of the board of trustees, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He also serves on the boards of Venerable Holdings Inc. and the American Council of Life Insurers.
