William J. Wheeler previously served as the vice chairman and president of Athene Holding Ltd. Prior to joining Athene, he was president of the Americas group for MetLife Inc., where he oversaw the insurance and retirement business in the United States and Latin America. He had been executive vice president and chief financial officer at MetLife as well. Previously, Mr. Wheeler was an investment banker at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. Mr. Wheeler serves on the board of Ethos Technologies. He has an A.B. from Wabash College, where he is the chairman of the board of trustees, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
